Jim：What are you going to do in your summer holiday? 
今年暑假你打算干什么？
Mary：I don't know. But my mother said she would take me to Qingdao. 
不知道，我妈妈说要带我去青岛。
Jim：That's a good place to spend a holiday. Last year I went there. It's really a beautiful and clean city. 
那是个度假的好地方，去年我去过了，
Mary：青岛是个又干净又漂亮的城市。 
What are you going to do, then?
Jim：那你准备干什么？ 
My father wrote to me and asked my mother and I to see him in Hainan this summer, but I want to attend the intermediate class for English in my holiday.
Mary：我爸爸来信让我妈和我去海南看他，可我想参加一个英语中级班。 
You'd better talk it over with your mother and see what she thinks about it.
Jim：你最好跟你妈妈商量一下，看看她怎么想。 
That's a good idea.

【B】
Jim：Did you go to any where in the winter holiday. 
寒假期间你去什么地方了吗？
Mary：Yes. I went back to my home town with my father. 
我跟我爸回老家了。
Jim：Was it the first time you had been there? 
是第一次回去吗？
Mary：No. I was brought up there and didn't leave there until I was six. 
不是，我是在家乡长大的，直到六岁才离开。
Jim：Did you find your home town changed? 
你发现你的家乡有变化吗？
Mary：It changed a lot. There were many new houses everywhere and I could hardly tell where was where. 
变化大了，到处都是新盖的房子，简直搞不清楚哪是哪了。

Jim：When are you going on holiday? 
你什么时候去度假？
Mary：The 10th July. 
7月10号。
Jim：What’s the date today? 
今天几号？
Mary：The 5th. 
5 号。
Jim：Oh, very soon then. 
啊，这么说很快了。
Mary：When are you going on holiday? 
你什么时候去度假？
Jim：Not until 19th August. 
8月19号才去。
