一、形容词的分类
1. 描述形容词：表示性质、颜色、大小和状态等的形容词。
He bought some new books.他买了一些新书。
These books are new.这些书是新的。
She wrote the letter with blue ink.她用蓝墨水写了那封信。
The ink is blue.这墨水是蓝色的。
There is a big bell in the room.房间里有座大钟。
2. 物质形容词：由物质名词充当或由物质名词转换而成。
• This glass disk looks very fragile.这个玻璃盘子看起来很容易碎。
It's a glassy substance.这是一种像玻璃一样光滑的物质。
We saw a grass snake yesterday.我们昨天看见了一条游蛇。
They are lying on a grassy lawn.他们躺在绿草如茵的草坪上。
Some gold coins were dug out from the ground.几枚金币从地下挖了出来。
3. 数量形容词
不定数量形容词：不定代词之后接名词时即成为不定数量形容词。（基数词、序数词、倍数词）
We got there without any trouble.我们顺利到达。
His cardinal idea is that all people should be equal.他的基本观点是人人都应平等。
The family lived in misery for several years.这家人过了几年的痛苦生活。
We'll see some friends tomorrow.我们明天将去看一些朋友。
She speaks a little French.她会讲一点法语。
No words can express my grief.我的忧伤无法表达。
A person has one head and one neck.人有一个头和一个脖子。
A square has four corners.正方形有四个角。
He owes me one hundred yuan.他欠我100元。
Please accent the first syllable.请重读第一个音节。
I read the letter more carefully the second time.我第二次看信时更仔细了。
I got the third prize in the race.我在赛跑中得了三等奖。
On second thoughts,he accepted her invitation.经过再三考虑后,他接受了她的邀请。
The river is half a mile across.江面宽半英里。
Half the apples are bad.一半苹果是坏的。
They bought a double bed.他们买了一张双人床。
This machine serves a double purpose.这部机器有双重用途。

4. 专有形容词：由专有名词转换而成,如地名、国名等。
He is a Chinese ambassador.他是中国的大使。
Kyoto was the cradle of Japanese culture.京都是日本文化的发源地。
He was born in Shanghai;he is a Shanghai man.他生于上海;他是个上海人。
5. 物主形容词：包括人称代词的所有格(即物主形容词)和名词的所有格。
My room is just above.我的房间就在楼上。
Acquaint him with your plans.把你的计划告知他。
We all urged him to go ahead with his plan.我们都鼓励他实施他的计划。
The iron has lost its magnetic force.这块铁已失去了磁力。
The conjuror's magic delighted the children.魔术师的戏法逗乐了孩子们。
