I found the homework was not as heavy as what I used to get in my school, but it was a bit challenging for me at first because all the homework was in English.
我发现家庭作业不像我以前所在的学校的那么多，但由于所有的作业都得用英语来完成，还挺不容易的。
这个用but 连接的表示转折关系的并列句本身并不复杂，但需要重点注意as…as…以及not so…as…句式的应用。一般来说，除了在口语中比较随便的用法之外，大家通常习惯于用not so…as…表示否定的关系，而用as…as…表示肯定的关系。例如：
He is not so diligent a boy as he was expected.
他并不像人们预料的那么勤奋。
Jack can be as tall as 2.1 meters if he develops fully.
如果发育完全的话，杰克可能高达两米一。
China is devoting as much as possible to maintaining the sustainable development of its economy and environment.
中国在尽其所能维持她的经济与环境的可持续性发展。

因此，要是你想更多地了解中国的话，你可千万别错过在开放日遇到大卫的机遇哟。
句中mustn’t do sth的句式表示“千万别做某事；绝对不能做某事”，表示一种强调的语气。
When traveling in Indonesia, you mustn’t touch the people there on the head.
在印度尼西亚旅游的时候，你可千万别碰当地人的头。

四、重点语法：定语从句中关系代词的用法

     在定语从句中，关系代词that, which, who通常被用来指代定语从句所修饰的先行词。一般来说，当先行词为物时，常用which，当先行词是人时通常用who, 而that则既可以指代人，又可以指代物。但要注意两个方面的内容：
1．两种情况下不能使用that:
（1）当关系代词出现在非限制性定语从句中时，如：
We finally arrived at a very quite village church, which once served as a field hospital in the second war. 我们最终到达了一个十分静谧的乡村教堂，该教堂在“二战”期间曾经被用作野战医院过。
（2）当关系代词出现在介词之后时，如：
Much to his surprise, Tom was taken to the small town, in which he spent his childhood. 令汤姆惊讶的是，他被带回到那个他曾经度过童年的小镇上。
2．六种情况下通常使用that:
（1）当定语从句出现在疑问词开头的句子中时， 如：
Who is the man that is beating my brother over there? 在那儿打我兄弟的人是谁？
Which of the bicycles that were brought here just now belongs to you? 刚搬到这儿的自行车中哪一辆是你的？
（2）当先行词有人又有物时， 如：
How come the students and desks that were here just now disappeared in a sudden? 怎么搞的，刚才在这儿的学生和桌子都哪儿去了？
（3）当先行词为不定代词all, one, everything, nothing, nobody, none等时，如：
This is all that I want from the school.
我对学校的要求就这么多了。
（4）当先行词被only, just, very, right等词修饰时， 如：
This is the very house that I am after all these days.
这就是我近来所要找的房子。
（5）当先行词被最高级所限制时，如：
The TV tower is the tallest building that has been built in this city. 该电视塔是城里最高的建筑物。
（6）当先行词被序数词所限制时，如：
Whenever a natural disaster happens, China is always the first country that offers material help.每当自然灾害发生时，中国总是第一个提供物质援助的国家。
