1.divide / separate
分离;别离;分手”,常与from连用;此外,separate还可以作形容词,表示各自的,如go on separate holidays。
Let’s divide the cake into three.
We divided a bag of cookies between us.
The teachers divided on the point.
He separated the good beans from the bad ones.
All his family got separated during the war.
The word has two separate meanings.
2. perhaps / possibly / maybe / probably / likely
1) perhaps作“或许”解,,它和possibly相似,但possibly通常与can, may, must 等连用。
Perhaps it is true./ It may possibly be true.
He will probably succeed.
He is likely to come here tonight.
It is likely / probable that he will come here tonight.
