    vt“使（人）想起，使记起，提醒”，经常用于以下结构：
remind sb. of sth.
remind sb. to do sth.
remind sb. that-clause
The report reminded him of his bitter past.这个报告使他想起了他辛酸的往事。
I kept on reminding myself that the time was short and the task was heavy.我不断提醒自己时间紧、任务重。
Please remind me to phone him tomorrow.请提醒我明天给他打电话。
I want to remind you that we’ve got a meeting next Monday.我想提醒你一下，我们下星期一有个会议。

6. provide 
    v.
1) 提供,供应,常用provide sth. 或 provide sth. for sb./provide sb. with sth.两种结构。
The school provides tents, but we must bring our own good.学校会提供帐篷,但是我们必须自己带食物。
They provided food and clothes for the sufferers.=They provided the suffers with food and clothes.他们提供食物和衣服给受难者。
2) 赡养,抚养,用provide for+n 结构。
He had to provide for a large family.他有一大家人要赡养。
3) 预防(灾难), (为将来)做准备,用provide against + n结构。
You’d better provide against an earthquake.你最好做预防地震的准备。

8. claim
    作及物动词vt 声称，宣称，要求
    声称=declare; 要求=request
He clamed that he wouldn’t do that.
After the war, they claimed victory.
We claimed the protection of the law.(要求)
